Dress for Every Occasion

As the weather warms up, we City Girls need a few go-to dresses to keep our cool when the humidity rises.
This was a dilemma for me until I recently stocked up. A well-fitting dress is the back-up plan to end all wardrobe inefficiencies. Didn’t iron those pants for work? Didn’t wash the top you wanted to wear for that meeting? Throw on a dress. Here are some options to try as our busy schedules move us from mid-week to weekend.
Friday Meeting: a little black dress with a cinched waist and 60s cut. Perfect for a business lunch, a job interview, or a fundraiser. I would style this dress with some nude patent heels, a gold statement necklace, and python tote.
Brunch Date: a striped t-shirt dress is the most classic & on-trend item to keep in rotation this summer. I love how it’s styled with sand colored espadrilles (an ergonomic shoe = so comfortable). I would add a brown shoulder bag and some major sunglasses.
Saturday Night Fever: Saturday nights are made for brightly printed caftan, beachy hair, dinners outdoors, and a little dancing in the street. Be bold and pair this tropical print with some brightly hued shoes, a metallic miniaudière, and gold bangles.
Sunday Best: a pencil dress worn with a black strappy sandal is an effortlessly polished look (you know how I love those). I would add some tortoise shell shades and a straw clutch to complete the outfit.
