When you’re traveling, it’s best to wear clothes that are both comfortable and stylish, because you never know where you’ll go or who you’ll meet on your journey.
I have road-tripped from West Texas to New York City twice, and during that time I needed outfits that I could fall asleep in, and go to lunch wherever we stopped that day. The same goes for air travel. Recently, on my trip to Chile, we arrived in the city of Santiago at 8am, but our hotel could not check us in before 2pm. The clothes I had flown in were also the clothes of my first few meals and sightseeing tours of the city. Note to self: good job on that one.

One Skirt. 4 Ways.
An even better way to justify a purchase, however much it costs, is to ensure it will work with many other items in your closet so you can dress it up or dress it down. What I love about this Loveapella Zebra pencil skirt is that you can wear it 4 different ways and create completely different looks. The idea is to start with basics, and tailor the accessories to match the occasion.
Work: White blazer, white tee, turquoise necklace, black wedges.
Weekend: Grey tee, gold bangles, simple sandals.
Date: Black racerback tank, diamond studs, chunky sandals.
Lunch: Chambray button down, crystal statement necklace, pink flats.

BASICS. Spring Edition.
Though these pillars of your closet aren’t necessarily fun to buy because of their simplicity, time and time again they will come very handy.
I say, every season it’s important to re-asses your closet. What do you love? What do you need? What haven’t you worn, and therefore, need to donate/sell/discard?
Here are some basics that are the staples of my wardrobe. Best part? They can be mixed and matched into a month’s worth of outfits on their own, or they can be added to fun new pieces to fit any style or occasion.
Get your own here: Grey sweater (mine is H&M Mens) // Black sheer shirt (mine is Gap) // Boyfriend plaid shirt (mine is J.Crew Mens) // Denim shirt // Striped tee (mine is H&M) // White shorts // LBD (mine is Calvin Klein via TJ Maxx) // Neutral Loafers (mine are Sam Edelman via Nordstrom Rack) // Neutral Heels (yes, red is a neutral) // Pencil skirt (mine is vintage Escada) // Dark wash skinny jeans (mine are J Brand)
