The 4 product face for less than $40.
Ally is back on The City Girl in Me to show us how absolutely stunning it is to wear the most minimal makeup— which is perfect for those days we have less than 5 minutes to get all dolled up. The red lip is every City Girl’s secret weapon!
1. mark. Got the Goods Multibenefit Foundation [$18] With a foundation brush, I applied this all over her skin starting from the middle of her face and blending outward. It gave her a sheer coverage with a dewy finish — perfect for someone with generally clear, dry skin. 2. Avon Ideal Luminous blush in Earthen Rose [on sale for $6] Along her cheekbones and temples, I dusted this blush where the sun would naturally hit her face for a warm glow. 3. Avon Big Color Glossy lip pencil in Glossy Celestial [$7] A bright red lip with blue undertones looks gorgeous on nearly everyone. A red lip is a great way to look like you made an effort with your makeup, when it really took 30 seconds or less to apply. I applied this straight from the applicator, outlining the lips first, then filling in for a full coverage. 4. Avon Superdrama Mascara in Black [on sale for $6] I kept the eyes super clean with a few swipes of mascara to define the lash line without taking away from the simplicity of this look.

Great Fall coats under $120
This Fall is all about the sleek coat, and these options are as stylish as they are affordable. I love how easily these can add instant style to any outfit— from your everyday jeans and flats, to that little black dress. Here are three options to get you going for the colder days ahead.
A little rock n’ roll: [Faux] leather and contrast sleeves were all over Fall fashion runways. I’m a bit partial to this sophisticated take on the usual grey wool coat.
Vintage and ladylike: Go Old Hollywood or go home. This shade of brown goes with everything— black, navy, grey, red— especially red, and the fur collar hints at the glamour of the 1950s and 60s.
A timeless classic: This just screams Jackie O on Thanksgiving in Cape Cod. A coat this simple is like a blank canvas. Add a brooch, belt, or printed scarf to make it your own.
Best part? Sign up for the Dorothy Perkins newsletter and you get 15% off your first order AND all orders over $75 receive free shipping. That is what I call a deal.

The Best of Sephora

Sephora is one of the best things to happen to the beauty industry and has radically changed the way we shop for beauty products. I remember my first visit to the store in the early 2000s, when I bought a Lorac pot of clear gloss and treated it as a little pot of gold.

When I lived in West Texas, I was utterly dismayed when I realized there was no Sephora for hundreds of miles. So whether you shop their site, their store, or their app for the beauty products you love the most, take note of these amazing products from their wallet-friendly in-store brand, Sephora Collection.

City Girl smarts: Why pay $995 for a Fendi clutch, when you can pay $17.95 for a similar style at H&M? I would save my hard-earned money on a leather jacket I would have for life, rather than an on-trend accessory from a designer that’s in one season and out the next.
Look to stores like Gap, ASOS, Target, H&M, Modcloth, Forever 21 and Topshop to add trendy pieces without going over budget.
