Shoes.

With Fashion Week just around the corner, I have been musing over ideas for outfits to wear to the shows. An updated pair of shoes has the power elevate every day basics. Did you know these pairs are all from Free People? They really have something for everyone’s taste. While these are a bit over my budget, I’m entertaining the idea of the investment because every pair is leather—- and we all know that makes for a long-lasting shoe. Anyone else having to restrain themselves from these beauties?

Calling all City Girls! LeSportsac loves us.

All of the time in the past few weeks that I have not been posting, due to my responsibilities at a new job, brings a lot of necessary drama to this exciting  collaboration. Get ready to hit the streets, LeSportsac is calling all City Girls.

After spotting countless City Girls on sidewalks and subways, toting their favorite LeSportsac bags, it dawned on me— there is an army of LeSportsac- loving ladies who style their bags to suit their lifestyle. From backpacks and diaper bags, to luggage and weekenders, to totes chock full of day-to-night necessities, City Girls demonstrate how these legendary bags are as stylish as they are reliable. LeSportsac loves us— they know that once we get our hands on a good thing, we can’t get enough— so they are offering my readers a chance to win one of many LeSportsac goodies and awarding us 15% off a future purchase!

Starting today, until December 24th, LeSportsac + The City Girl in Me want to see how you wear your favorite LeSportsac bag(s).

Ali Ro + The City Girl in Me

For the past few weeks, I have been guest blogging over at Ali Ro’s My Life blog. We have teamed up to share head-to-toe looks coordinated to New York City neighborhoods. Ever wonder what lipstick the Upper East Side girl stashes in her bag or what a downtown girl can’t live without?

My Trip to NYC.
Since I’m a New Yorker, I never can get enough of the city no matter how long my stay, even when I lived there. Here’s a peek at what the City Girl does in The City:
1. Celebrated a dear friend’s birthday with wonderful people complete with cupcakes from Two Little Red Hens and dinner/ drinks at Cafe Minerva.
2. After riding the ferry from Pier 11 at sunset, I watched the Super Bowl from a bedroom display at Ikea Brooklyn. I root for any New York team.
3. Bought my first of many Alex & Ani charm bracelets from the lovely ladies in the SoHo store.
4. Attended (I’m in the black and white tweed jacket— tweeting) the Independent Fashion Blogger Conference at Milk Studios and caught up with lovely bloggers. Chelsea Market was a MUST for lunch and tea from Sarabeth’s bakery.
5. Ate dinner from TriBeCa Taco Truck, curbside.
6. Ate another dinner at Mel’s Burger Bar in the Columbia (read: Seinfeld diner) neighborhood.
6. Visited Strand Bookstore in between running errands and I didn’t want to leave.
7. Went to ABC Carpet & Fishs Eddy for home inspiration.
8. Ate a grapefruit every night after dinner, while falling asleep to old Seinfeld episodes.
It was a wonderful trip!
