Ali Ro + The City Girl in Me

For the past few weeks, I have been guest blogging over at Ali Ro’s My Life blog. We have teamed up to share head-to-toe looks coordinated to New York City neighborhoods. Ever wonder what lipstick the Upper East Side girl stashes in her bag or what a downtown girl can’t live without?

City Girl travels: Santiago, Chile.

Chile is a land of wine vineyards, mountains, and miles of beaches. Over the course of 10 days, my husband and I were of wine-tasting, sun-bathing, Spanish-speaking, and exploring. I wanted to see as much of the city as possible! Must  be The City Girl in Me.

Left to right: Fresh off the plane & hunting for brunch. Wearing my DIY Jeans last seen here, H&M Mens sweater, and Sam Edelman loafers. // Steak dinner with Chilean vino (of course) at Las Vacas Gordas, while wearing my jacket ala Giovanna Battaglia. // Exploring downtown on a Sunday stroll. Wearing peplum top scored from Gilt Groupe & H&M printed pencil skirt. // Sunset walk along the financial district of Las Condes before drinks. Obsessed with that maxi dress. // More vino at the Ritz with my man. // Rooftop poolside turban with my mom’s vintage scarf.

A Natural Lip.

Lately with all of Spring’s brights, neons, and florals, my makeup routine has been minimal. I’ve been on the hunt for a color and texture of lip color that looks like my lips, but better and more polished. These are the 5 products I rely on most to give my lips an upgrade and they compliment any skin tone or age. What do you use for a natural lip?

1. Laura Mercier stick gloss in Brown Sugar // 2. YSL Rouge Volupte in 003 Ultimate Beige // 3. Stila lip glaze in Grapefruit // 4. Bobbi Brown rich color gloss in Dusty Rose // 5. Clinique almost lipstick in Chic Honey

Wise Words Wednesdays!
Keep it simple, especially with your overall appearance. Let the real you shine through. Wouldn’t you rather someone say, “You look beautiful” instead of “Your makeup looks beautiful”? Believe me, staying true to yourself starts with the way you walk out the door every morning.
